
Spicy Noodles (with Shrimp)
Spicy Noodles with Shrimp
Ingredients
- Noodles - Rice or Egg Noodles (Recommended: Blue Dragon Cantonese Egg Noodles)
- 1/2 Lb - Shrimp
- 1/4 Tsp - Chicken Boullion
- 1/8-1/4 Tsp - Thai Chili Flakes (1/8 for less spice)
- 6 Cloves - Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Cup - Sesame Oil (Dark/Toasted/Asian)
- 3 Dashes - Soy Sauce
- 3/4 Tsp - Kochujang Sauce
- 2 Stalks - Green Onion
- 1/2 Tsp - Sesame Seeds
- Black Pepper
Directions
- Fill large pot with water and bring to a boil (Continue with prep steps while waiting for water to boil)
- Mince garlic and cut green onion then add 50% of garlic to serving bowls, leave green onion aside
- Add chicken bouillon, thai chili flakes, kochujang sauce to serving bowls
- Add 2-3 good spins of crushed black pepper to the serving bowl
- Once water comes to a boil, add noodles and boil until al dente then remove
- Cook shrimp with remainder of garlic in separate pan on medium heat
- Pour dark sesame oil (be sure it is not light/refined) into a pan at low-medium heat – let it simmer
- Remove oil from heat and pour on top of ingredients in serving bowls. Aim to not scorch the minced garlic and mix
- Add noodles to the chili oil in the serving bowls
- Mix thoroughly until the chili oil and ingredients are evenly distributed among the noodles
- Add shrimp and recommended dashes of soy sauce to serving bowls. Add green onion and sesame seeds to each and serve
